Behavioral Health Clinician (BHCC)

The Clinician will complete behavioral health and/or crisis assessments, develop treatment and safety plans and deliver clinical services to individuals seeking mental health and substance abuse related challenges in a fast paced crisis clinic. This position involves direct clinical services, staff consultation, case management work and possible involuntary commitment determinations.

Behavioral Health Tech/Driver

Safely transports passengers and/or mail and materials in an assigned geographical area traveling by automobile or van.

A Technician assists with collecting information for individual intake, admission based on interviews with client, their families, significant others, and appropriate community agencies. Assist the treatment team in identifying individual strengths and weaknesses, and developing a treatment/care plan for a specific activity, service or program. Assist in monitoring the individual’s progress toward treatment goals. A Technician at the BHCC may work on any of the 3 areas of the BHCC to include the Crisis Services Center, Temporary Observation or the Crisis Stabilization Unit.

Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)

The Certified Peer Specialist assigned to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center is a vital part of the team. The position involves engaging individuals, providing linkage to community resources, assisting with discharge planning and providing direct services and may include sharing one’s own personal journey to encourage and inspire others as they continue on their own recovery journey.

Community Response Behavioral Health Clinician

The Community Response Behavioral Health Clinician will work in collaboration with Cobb County Fire and EMS and Cobb County Police Department on the Community Response Team with a focus on reduction of non- emergency 911 calls.  The clinician will respond in the community as member of the team with primary function of assessment of potential mental health and/or substance use disorders.  The clinician will assist with linkage to appropriate services for ongoing treatment.  Additionally, where deemed necessary the clinician will execute the 1013/2013 for transport to an emergency receiving facility for assessment for inpatient admission.

Care Management Specialist (BHCC)

The Care Management Specialist works closely with the Supervisor, Billing Department, and other internal programs/external entities to obtain authorization of services rendered by the agency to ensure timely reimbursement.  The Care Management Specialist also ensures the agency provides quality services and complies with agency, state and federal guidelines.

Clinical Program Manager (BHCC)

The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and supervising all clinical services in a crisis center under the direction of the Behavioral Health Crisis Center Director. Duties include managing day to day operation of clinical services in Crisis Receiving Services, Temporary Observation and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Assist and ensure all documentation and authorizations required for admission and discharge are completed accurately and in a timely manner per Agency and DBHDD guidelines (i.e. BHA Assessments, Treatment Pans, Safety Plans, Discharge Summaries etc.) Responsible for meeting all regulatory guidelines and performance measures for clinical services per DBHDD and CARF standards. Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and training of clinical department staff.  Coordinate with internal and external treatment providers and programs including initiating and overseeing Georgia Regional referrals. 

Licensed Practical Nurse (CSU)

LPNs will provide care to individuals and have direct contact on a daily basis. LPNs are an instrumental part of the care team.  LPNs are assigned responsibilities such as medication administration, leading groups, and other tasks that fall under the LPN Nurse Practice Act and agency policy. LPNs at the BHCC may work on any of the 3 areas of the BHCC to include the Crisis Services Center, Temporary Observation or the Crisis Stabilization Unit.

Mental Health Clinician (ACT)

Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Provides case management and crisis interventions with individuals. Provides direct care in a recovery focused environment. Provides direct care services including behavioral health assessments, treatment plan reviews and treatment planning. Provides therapeutic services to individuals, groups and families.

Mental Health Clinician (Apex-hybrid)

The Bright Changes/Apex Therapist role is a hybrid position that has been developed to provide therapeutic services to children, youth emerging adults and their families who are enrolled in the Clubhouse and Apex programs. In support of the Program Coordinator, the Therapist develops partnerships with community partners and schools and works with those partners to identify individuals with mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs. The Therapist conducts behavioral health assessments, individual, family and group therapy and additional services to Clubhouse members and APEX Program, works to improve outcomes for those members in community-at-large, school and home.  Seeking to contribute to the success each program, as well as the agency as a whole, the Therapist will maximize billable services to members and their families enrolled participating in the programs and work at retaining those members throughout their authorization for services. 

Registered Nurse-RN (CSU)

Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality individual care through the nursing process of risk assessment, admissions, discharges, administering medication, unit management, and crisis management on the Crisis Stabilization Unit. Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a 24 hour, 365 days a year short term medically monitored unit with 28 beds for the purpose of providing psychiatric stabilization and detoxification from drugs and alcohol. It serves as a first line community based alternative to hospitalization. The annual average length of stay in the crisis beds of the CSU does not exceed eight calendar days.

A Registered Nurse (RN) at the BHCC may work on any of the 3 areas of the BHCC to include the Crisis Services Center, Temporary Observation or the Crisis Stabilization Unit. The Crisis Service Center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide short-term intervention designed to be time limited, generally a single episode of intervention that stabilizes the individual and moves the individual to the appropriate level of observation. The Temporary Observation unit provides a physically secure and medically safe environment during which an individual in crisis is further assessed, stabilized and referred to the next appropriate level of care for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.

Substance Use Counselor (ACT)

Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Provides case management and crisis interventions with individuals. Provides direct care in a recovery focused environment. Provides substance abuse counseling, assessment, treatment planning and coordinating with ACT individuals.

Unit Clerk

This position is responsible for BHCC administrative and direct services to the BHCC assist with the front desk and unit duties including providing feedback on daily registration processes, admissions, discharges and staffing issues. Provide assistance to staff as necessary to ensure that daily facility operations are functioning smoothly.

Mobile Crisis - Clinician - LCSW or LPC

The DeKalb Mobile Crisis Unit (MCU) is a collaborative service of the DeKalb Community Service Board and the DeKalb County Police Department to respond to individuals and their families experiencing a behavioral health crisis (mental health and/or substance use issues). The goals of the program are to de-escalate acute crisis situations, provide immediate therapeutic interventions, and to reduce hospitalizations and reduce arrests and incarceration. The Mobile Crisis Clinician provides on-site crisis intervention, provides education and support, coordinates follow up services and connects individuals and families to resources. The clinician evaluates individual’s safety risk to self or others, determines if involuntary admission is needed and completes 1013 or 2013 as appropriate. Receives supervision from the Psychiatric Emergency Services Manager.

Chief Quality Officer

The Chief Quality Officer utilizes various analytical strategies to ensure that the DeKalb CSB delivers quality care and provide effective and efficient administrative service. They will analyze new methodologies that may positively impact performance, client safety, satisfaction, clinical outcomes—all of which contribute to quality care. The Chief Quality Officer must know how to develop a culture that promotes accountability and transparency and create an infrastructure that uses data to drive decision-making. They must possess in-depth clinical knowledge and understand the clinical implications of the infrastructures they create. To improve the quality of health care delivery, they must lead organizational change, coordinate and/or develop policies, and utilize available resources while working with other member of the leadership team. Controller

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the healthcare arena preferably in a behavioral health care setting. Effectively manages all agency financial management processes including payroll, accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, and third-party payor reimbursements. DeKalb Regional Crisis Center (DRCC) Medical Director

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

This position will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric diagnoses, and ongoing treatment for a large caseload of child and adolescent consumers. Will provide evaluation and treatment to assess all the biological, psychological, and social factors that may be contributing to consumers disorders. Will evaluate all information and carry out diagnostic and treatment methodologies and once the diagnosis is made, the psychiatrist will consult with the family to make individualized recommendations for treatment. Educational Activity Support Professional

Under general supervision, provides training and support services to persons with developmental disabilities in a program which includes employment and community supports. Must be able to work independently and maintain accurate current Medicaid waiver records, which includes composing narrative statements for billing purposes.  Creates activities and develops educational lesson plans. Provide transportation for consumers in personal vehicle and/or agency vehicle to access community resources and other activities. Maintains good communication with individuals and family. HIV EIS Nurse

The HIV EIS LPN will be clinically competent while delivering care to consumers. HIV EIS LPN will effectively interact with consumers, significant others and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.

Medication Assisted Treatment: LPN- Full Time

Provide direct and indirect clinical nursing services to adult and child & adolescent mental health and consumers with substance abuse in an outpatient setting within LPN Practice Guidelines.  Demonstrates basic nursing techniques and procedures following the established medical protocol.  Works with medical staff, pharmacy, nursing and other clinical staff to ensure the highest coordination of services.  Assess consumers for mental health needs and fulfill all charting requirements. In addition this position will be responsible for informing the consumer of referral authorization requirements, co-pays and /or deductibles due, and directing calls, working through referrals, running eligibility checks/compliance and the completion of questionnaires for Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance and Self Pay consumers. This position is also responsible for collection of data and entry of data into the WITS system at admission, 6 months, and discharge. This position will ensure all staff with responsibility for entry in this system, complete those tasks timely and appropriately. This position may be assigned shifts or parts of shifts at other LBHS sites depending on the workload and demand at the primary site.

Office Manager-Full Time (Tifton Mental Health Clinic)

Manages clerical staff and clerical duties to support clinical programs within the county(s) served. Hire, train and discipline staff. Maintains clerical personnel files, approves times sheets and leave, schedules clerical staff to adequately meet needs of the clinics.
